Ángel Zamora González de la Peña is a partner at Zurbarán Abogados, responsible for the Energy Department and the Commercial Law Department. He is currently the external lawyer of choice for some of Spain’s leading renewable energy developers in the energy field. He provides recurring advice on Corporate Law, Insolvency, Commercial Litigation, and Arbitration in the commercial sector.

He graduated in Law from the University of Navarra (class of 1997). He then pursued Doctoral Studies at the University of Seville (1997-1999). He has also completed the General Management Program (PDG) at IESE Business School (2007) and the Expert Course in Urban Planning and Real Estate Development at the Institute of Business Practice.

He has been practicing law since 1997. Before founding Zurbarán Abogados in 2018, he practiced his professional services as a lawyer and associate at Zamora Abogados and at Zamora de Claver.

He is a member of the Spanish Arbitration Club and the Court of Arbitration of the Madrid Bar Association in the Real Estate Law, Contracts, Corporate Law, and Energy sections.

In the academic field, he is a professor of Commercial Law with the Master’s Degree in Access to the Legal Profession at the University of Navarra Law School.

He is coauthor of the article Sacrificio desproporcionado e impugnación de acuerdos homologados de refinanciación, jurisprudencia española y directiva europea sobre reestructuración temprana (Disproportionate Sacrifice and Challenges to Refinancing Agreements, Spanish case law and the European Directive on Early Restructuring), published in issue no. 31 of the Revista de Derecho Concursal y Paraconcursal (Publisher: La Ley).
